Naseem, Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association strongly criticized the Government decision to observe 2-holidays in a week as a result of which Banks and Government Departments including Customs Offices will not function on Saturday causing loss to the importers/exporters particularly of leather industry who have to make transactions with the banks on daily basis. 18-Oct: PTA criticizes the government decision to increase in electricity charges
The Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association, Mr. S.M. Naseem has strongly criticized the un-business friendly decision for the 12% increase in the electricity charges arbitrary. He said the Leather Industry of Pakistan which is already confronting severe crisis of its history, increase in the electricity power is sure to enhance production cost which will render the leather exporters un-competitive in the world market. PTA demands for imposing ban on Wet Blue (WB) Leather
Mr. Khurshid Alam, Chairman, PTA  in his earlier press statement issued to all print & Electronic media informed a Resolution has been passed by PTA with the consensus of all allied stakeholders of Leather Industry i.e. Leather Garments, Leather Footwear & Leather Gloves to impose a complete on export of Wet Blue Leather/Wet Blue Split Leather of all kinds, Raw Hides & skins and Pickled Leather from Pakistan, which is severely shortage within the country for meeting the domestic demand of the Industry.
